According to the news released by IRNA, Iran gas export to Iraq was commenced late on this Wednesday, 21st, June, 2017. Through this project, 7 million M3 gas will be transferred into Iraq daily and this rate will increase up to 35 million M3.
So far, there have been two contracts made on exporting gas to Basra and Baghdad in Iraq to meet this country requirements for running its power plants. The initial talks on this project started late in 2010 and following that the sale contract on exporting gas to Iraq was officially made in 2013. However the contract on exporting gas to Iraq was put into effect late in 2015.
