On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 9:00 AM, an emergency evacuation and fire drill was successfully conducted at the Fajr Building. The drill featured the presence of firefighting personnel led by Mr. Sa’adatmandi, who facilitated a two-hour training session in the building’s conference hall.
At 12:00 PM on the same day, a simulated emergency condition was announced via pager by the IT and Communications Supervisor. All employees of Hirbodan Management Company, without prior coordination, responded calmly to the crisis situation. They efficiently evacuated the building using the stairs and proceeded to a designated safe assembly area outside. The total time taken for the complete evacuation of all personnel was less than three minutes. The Crisis Committee Supervisor confirmed the full evacuation before joining everyone at the safe assembly point.
Following practical training conducted by the esteemed firefighters, a fire broke out at approximately 12:30 PM involving paper and cardboard materials that had been stored in the company’s yard. The smoke and smell soon caught the attention of employees in the Services and Security departments. Security immediately alerted the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team. Meanwhile, the trained Services personnel promptly used handheld extinguishers to manage the fire until the HSE team arrived and confirmed that the fire was completely extinguished. After receiving clearance from HSE, all personnel returned to their workstations.
To ensure environmental safety, all fire-related waste was collected by the Services team and transferred to designated waste bins.
The HSE expert contacted the fire department to ensure that all employee safety protocols were followed, allowing for the resumption of normal operations within the company.
This drill reinforced the importance of emergency preparedness and employee training in ensuring safety within the workplace.
