Mr. Jalil Salari, The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, highlighted the importance of close cooperation between industry and the environment, emphasizing the need to increase the participation of refining companies in carbon sequestration. He mentioned the allocation of $15 billion to optimize the refining industries and an additional $9 billion investment in upgrading the quality of furnace oil projects.
Furthermore, the Deputy Minister of Oil for Refining and Distribution expressed hope for collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture in afforestation in operational environments, citing successful implementation in existing refineries and upcoming initiatives. The company also aims to actively participate in global carbon sequestration efforts through these initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility.
Salari emphasized the industry’s plan to create green spaces in industrial environments in line with the social responsibility of the oil industry, indicating that the expansion of green spaces in refining facilities is being carried out in parallel with production and other social initiatives. This ambitious project marks a significant step towards environmental conservation and sustainable development within Iran’s oil refining industry.
