Mr. Seyed Hassan Maddahi, CEO of Qeshm Movalled Company, said on the sidelines of the opening of the 320-megawatt Pasargad power plant: The Pasargad power plant with a nominal capacity of 320 megawatts, which was connected to the national power grid in early April 2022 and officially inaugurated today, has several important features.
According to the Public Relations of Pasargad Energy Development Company, Maddahi stated that this project did not use any financial resources or government facilities such as the Development Fund and the Foreign Exchange Reserve Fund. He added that all the capital for this project, amounting to 95 million euros, was provided by Pasargad Energy Development Company.
He also mentioned the domestic production of the largest 400-megavolt-ampere, 300-ton transformer for the first time in the country, which is being used in this power plant.
Maddahi also cited the project’s execution time as the third important feature of this power plant and stated: The construction of this 320-megawatt power plant, from the beginning and design to procurement and complete implementation, took about 18 months, which is considered a record for building a power plant of this capacity.
He mentioned that Mounenco Iran as the project consultant, Hirbodan as the main contractor, and Talou Energy and Jouibar Andisheh Niroo as the project management consultants have been actively involved in this project.
Referring to the approaching summer season and the increase in electricity consumption in the country, especially in the southern region and Qeshm, where the presence of various industries and the use of cooling devices further increases the demand, Mr. Maddahi emphasized: The Pasargad Qeshm power plant can greatly contribute to the country’s electricity supply.
The opening of the Pasargad Qeshm power plant was held this morning (Friday, May 20, 2022) in a ceremony attended by Mr. Ayatollah Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran, and with the presence of Mr. Saeed Mohammad, the President’s advisor and Secretary of the Supreme Council of the country’s Free Economic Zones, and Mr. Mehdi Dosti, the Governor of Hormozgan, via video conference.
